Current Obsession - Topshop Macaroon

Tuesday 12 February 2013

So I am in love with this lipstick  I don't usually go for bright lipsticks and truth be told I have only got into lipsticks fairly recently within the last year. But this baby is lovely, it is a bright blue toned pink which I prefer and it is so creamy and pigmented. I do think it is a bit of a bold lipstick but it the formulation is great and for £8 I can't really complain.

I think Topshop are really stepping up in their make up collection, I heard from another blogger that they might be owned by mac. But whether that is true or not is another story. Regardless Topshop are selling great lipsticks and I really advice you to pick a few up to see for yourselves.

ps. i'm sorry about the lighting, the lighting in my house is awful. I will get better with my pictures i promise ):

My Mac Blush/Highlighter Collection

So I thought I'd post up my Mac Powder products, in all honesty my Mac slight obsession has only started recently. I always saw Mac as being overpriced and things I could get cheaper in the drugstore or highstreet. But as time went on and I read more and more blogs loving Mac, I simply couldn't resist. I don't have a Mac counter in my city so I made my mum drive me to the next town pretty much to go to a Mac counter where I bought my first couple of Mac things. (thanks mum!) So now I have a few different Mac products and I'm just gonna show you the powder types that I currently have.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Stereo Rose
So first up is one of my favourites and is also limited edition so I doubt you'll be able to get your hands on it but it is a winner and is also probably one of the most hyped up Mac products. As you can see it pink coral base to it with gold veins running through it. It is quite shimmery but because of the bright pink coral colour I would use this as a blush and a highlighter as one. I do have to have a light hand as it can be a bit much for my pale skintone but it is lovely and i'm so glad I was able to get my mitts on it.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

As you can see from the picture above this is a light gold highlighter and is quite beautiful. I love using this on the tops of my cheeks and it is such a nice product. Would be good for all skin type so a very nice all round highlighter.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Natural - Medium

I'm sure everyone and their mums knows about this product but in case you have been literally under a rock or don't care for beauty items...if so why are you here..then i'll tell you. This my friends is a setting powder, there is no shimmer, no glitter. Nothing just a natural matte powder perfect for giving you a flawless finish after applying your makeup. I really do think this helps is making my makeup look fresh and last all day.

Mac Matte Blush in Melba
Next up is this popular blush and I'm sure most people would have this in their collection. It is my most recent blush purchase and I'm not really sure why I haven't bought it before! I don't know if the photo shows it justice but it is just a perfect peach pinky blush. And leaves a lovely flush on the cheeks. Perfect.

Mac Sheertone Blush in Tenderling
The last one is probably a slight brown toned coral and it is a really nice natural color. It is a sheer-tone blush so the color pay off isn't the best if you're wanting a full on blushed look but it is a lovely natural my cheeks but better looks.

And there we have it, my current Mac powder form collection. I'm sorry if the photos are a bit meh, I need to learn to edit them, oops. Hope you enjoyed the post. Maybe my next post will be a really really late January favorites...

My Yankee Candle Collection Part 1

Monday 11 February 2013

Now, I don't know about anyone else but I love candles. I don't know where it came from, just decided a year or so ago 'hey i want a candle' so what did I do? Didn't go looking  for cheap options, no. I went full steam ahead and ended up a Yankee Candle store. I know how expensive they are and some people think that spending £10-£20 on something you literally burn is ridiculous. But y'know...I decided that among beauty things, Yankee Candles are probably my second love so what a great way to start my proper first post and show you all. As I regally read a lot of blogs and I swear Yankee Candles often seem so unloved in the blogging society. So here goes my Yankee candle Collection...

So first up is Chocolate Bunnies in a large jar, this is my newest one to my ever-growing collection and limited edition for easter. It's a chocolate candle. Need I say more? And this candle cost £18.99 and has a burn time off around 150 hours or so. I have yet to burn through a large jar candle so maybe this time is less or more, I don't really know. But what I do know about this candle is that the throw and the scent of this candle is amazing and to be quite honest with this candle i'm not even sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I was happily burning this candle (with a cold) when my dad came home from work and asked have I been making a million hot chocolates. That ladies and gentleman is the scent description  hot chocolate. It makes your house smell of hot chocolate and it's powerful stuff. While it is nice, I'm not too sure how often I'll burn it as hot chocolate fumes around the house isn't something I aim for.

The second candle is Black Coconut and this is in a tumbler form. Lets start off by saying I love all things coconut. You name it, i'll want it. I never got my hands on trying their previous coconut range so I was so excited when 2013 meant a new coconut line. And it smells amazing, it's not full on coconut it does have some fresh scent in there too but I think it's amazing. The throw is pretty good and it does drift around the house. This is probably one of the favs!

Next up is Creamy Caramel in tumbler form again, and I love this. It has been discontinued so I'm not too sure if you will be able to get your hands on it. But if you do, I really recommend if you are a fan of sweet food scents as it really does smell of sugar and caramel. And the throw is amazing as well.

The last one is cranberry ice which is in tumbler form again... Now I adore this candle. Cranberry is probably one of my favorite scents and I just love it. It is from Christmas 2012 collection, so you may not be able to pick it up again for awhile but hey. Like with most Yankee candles the throw is really good and it really does make the house smell warm and fruity. I think the ice part does make it a bit of a fresh smell but overall it's just a lovely cranberry scent. And if you can't pick one of  these up in the sale there are other cranberry scents in the Yankee Candle range like Cranberry chutney and cranberry mandarin so I recommend checking them out.

So here are the first 4 candles in my collection. (: I hope you liked my post and my next post will be of the beauty things. Probably my mac collection or a recent haul. Please feel free to follow me.
