My 2015 Beauty Resolutions

So this post may be a bit late..since it's like almost February can you believe it. I can't. I mean January seemed incredibly long but I still can't comprehend that it's 2015. Time will you please just slow down. This is just going to be a little simple post from me today listening things that I want to keep up with doing that involve beauty.

1. Wash my brushes more regularly

I'm sure I can't be the only one who just doesn't wash their brushes enough. Considering you're using them on your face most days the bacteria and everything can build up causing spots and nobody wants them. So this year i'm going to try and make a cautious effort to wash them weekly.

2. Drink more water!!!

This is something I really need and want to work on. I never drink enough a water and my excuses are always lame like I don't have time or to be honest I'd much rather drink a ice cold diet coke if i'm thirsty. I'm going to try and drink 1.5 liters a day.

3. Get my hair cut regularly

I'm ashamed to say I haven't got my hair in way too long and I'm constantly moaning about my split ends and trying to cut them off with scissors and I don't understand why I don't just make a hair appointment and get a decent trim.

4. Wash my face properly in the morning

Sometimes I'm really lazy on my days off and I just really can't be bothered to go in the bathroom and do a proper face routine but I know it's really important to properly wash your face twice a day.

5. Stop hoarding old makeup

I have make up sat in my draws that I hardly ever use if at all and some of it should be really just be binned but I can never seem to part with it. Slaps self on wrist.

So here are some of my (late) resolutions that are simple and hopefully I can keep on track off. Let me know some of your resolutions in the comments whether they are beauty or not :)

Current Wish List

Wednesday 28 January 2015

January has been such a long month and I just can't wait till pay day, it's growing nearer now! As always there is a certain couple (well I say a couple..) things that I definitely have my eye on.

1. Peter Thomas Roth Camu Power C x 30™ Vitamin C Brightening Cleansing Powder $45
This is a relatively new product and we currently don't have much of this brightening range in the UK annoyingly so i'm going to make a Sephora purchase come payday at midnight. I've seen all the good reviews on Sephora and anything that promises to brighten up the skin is a winner in my eyes.

2. Peter Thomas Roth  Pumpkin Enzyme Mask $58
This is a complete Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup enabled purchase but again it's a brightening product which exfoliates the dead skin making it brighter. She says it's a winner and anything she suggests I'm there.

3. Tarte Amazian Clay Blushes $26
I adore these blushes, they have an amazing formula and they tend to last well on my skin. At the moment I have 3 of these blushes and they're some of my favorites. I really want to add more shades to my collection and branch out of my peachy pink shades. Maybe Natural Beauty is the next one I go for.

4. Too Faced Better Than Sex £19
Again this is the continuation of my mascara hunt. I know Zoe from Zoella had this in a recent beauty favourite or a haul or something and said she really loves it. I haven't tried anything from Too Faced so this is the next mascara I want to try. Wish me luck.

5. Prada Saffiano Lux Double-Zip Tote £1765.45 (GULP)
A bit of an extravagant addition but I really want this bag. I've really wanted a expensive designer bag for awhile. Everyone has Mulberry nowadays.. I say everyone but I want something different and this bag is just perfect. I'm going to attempt to save a bit of money each month to save up for it. I NEED THIS BAG IN MY LIFE!

6. Topshop Petite Moto Denim Borg Western Jacket £58
I'm like obsessed with buying jackets and coats recently and have built up a collection recently. I really want to add a denim jacket into my wardrobe and I love to the borg lining inside. I'm hoping this will suit my style.

A Mascara Hate

Monday 26 January 2015
So lately I've been on a mascara hunt, I just can't seem to find one that is meeting my requirements. I'm not too sure if i'm being overally fussy or what but this is the latest mascara I have tested.
This is the L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky Mega Volume mascara.

I decided to pick this one up as I've heard a lot of really great things about the original Miss Manga and this one was a new volumising one and I much prefer volume to lengthening so I thought this would be perfect.

How wrong I was. I'm not too sure it's the forumla as I've never tried the original version but the brush is terrible. It has lots of little short bristles which don't really seem to do a lot other than clump my lashes together. I guess if you're someone who likes the whole spidery lashes thing then maybe this one is for you but for now the hunt continues...

Another Introduction...yet again.

Okay, so I'm going to try again to blog regularly. Yes I need a new header (if anyone can help with that pleaaase.) I don't know how often I will blog or anything but I started this blog like 2 years ago now and I really want to do this as a hobby nothing more nothing less. I'm obsessed with skincare makeup and all things beauty so even if I just share my ramblings with one other person I'd be happy :)

Current Obsession - Topshop Macaroon

Tuesday 12 February 2013

So I am in love with this lipstick  I don't usually go for bright lipsticks and truth be told I have only got into lipsticks fairly recently within the last year. But this baby is lovely, it is a bright blue toned pink which I prefer and it is so creamy and pigmented. I do think it is a bit of a bold lipstick but it the formulation is great and for £8 I can't really complain.

I think Topshop are really stepping up in their make up collection, I heard from another blogger that they might be owned by mac. But whether that is true or not is another story. Regardless Topshop are selling great lipsticks and I really advice you to pick a few up to see for yourselves.

ps. i'm sorry about the lighting, the lighting in my house is awful. I will get better with my pictures i promise ):

My Mac Blush/Highlighter Collection

So I thought I'd post up my Mac Powder products, in all honesty my Mac slight obsession has only started recently. I always saw Mac as being overpriced and things I could get cheaper in the drugstore or highstreet. But as time went on and I read more and more blogs loving Mac, I simply couldn't resist. I don't have a Mac counter in my city so I made my mum drive me to the next town pretty much to go to a Mac counter where I bought my first couple of Mac things. (thanks mum!) So now I have a few different Mac products and I'm just gonna show you the powder types that I currently have.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Stereo Rose
So first up is one of my favourites and is also limited edition so I doubt you'll be able to get your hands on it but it is a winner and is also probably one of the most hyped up Mac products. As you can see it pink coral base to it with gold veins running through it. It is quite shimmery but because of the bright pink coral colour I would use this as a blush and a highlighter as one. I do have to have a light hand as it can be a bit much for my pale skintone but it is lovely and i'm so glad I was able to get my mitts on it.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

As you can see from the picture above this is a light gold highlighter and is quite beautiful. I love using this on the tops of my cheeks and it is such a nice product. Would be good for all skin type so a very nice all round highlighter.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Natural - Medium

I'm sure everyone and their mums knows about this product but in case you have been literally under a rock or don't care for beauty items...if so why are you here..then i'll tell you. This my friends is a setting powder, there is no shimmer, no glitter. Nothing just a natural matte powder perfect for giving you a flawless finish after applying your makeup. I really do think this helps is making my makeup look fresh and last all day.

Mac Matte Blush in Melba
Next up is this popular blush and I'm sure most people would have this in their collection. It is my most recent blush purchase and I'm not really sure why I haven't bought it before! I don't know if the photo shows it justice but it is just a perfect peach pinky blush. And leaves a lovely flush on the cheeks. Perfect.

Mac Sheertone Blush in Tenderling
The last one is probably a slight brown toned coral and it is a really nice natural color. It is a sheer-tone blush so the color pay off isn't the best if you're wanting a full on blushed look but it is a lovely natural my cheeks but better looks.

And there we have it, my current Mac powder form collection. I'm sorry if the photos are a bit meh, I need to learn to edit them, oops. Hope you enjoyed the post. Maybe my next post will be a really really late January favorites...
